to Palo Alto & Talk by Swami Kriyananda
Sunday, July 20
Join
us on Sunday, July 20 when we visit the Ananda Temple in Palo Alto, the
Ananda Community in Mountain View, and attend a talk by Swami Kriyananda,
the founder of Ananda Sangha. We will meet at 7:00 am at the Ananda Center
in Santa Rosa to carpool to Palo Alto for Sunday Service, then visit the
Community in the afternoon for a tour and other events. Swami Kriyananda
will speak at the Community at 4:00 pm. This a wonderful opportunity to
experience darshan, the inspiration of being in the presence of a great
soul. There is no charge for this event. Call

On
Ayurveda Retreat in Kerala - One Person's Experience

Have you ever wondered what ayurvedic treatment
is like? Ann Kaplan went on an Ayurvedic Retreat in India last February.
She will describe her experiences and show us pictures of Kerala.

Bhagavad Gita Discussion Group
First Sunday in June & August, 2nd Sunday in July, 12:30-2pm
Heidi and Jim Noh-Kuhn will lead a study group on the Essence of the Bhagavad
Gita as explained to Swami Kriyananda by his guru, Paramhansa Yogananda.
The text will be broken into sizable segments to allow for in-depth exploration
of the sacred teachings and how they can be applied to daily life. You
may join the group at any time.
Learn to Meditate

This class is designed to introduce the concept and practice
of Yogananda's basic, simple, techniques aimed at helping to develop a
regular meditation practice. It includes all the basics - learning to
sit comfortably, techniques for quieting the body and mind and helping
to open the heart and develop a devotional attitude. Stress reduction
is usually felt immediately! All levels of experience are invited.

This two-part class will explore the basics of meditation: what it is,
how and why it works, the benefits, and how to make a regular, joyful
practice of meditation part of your life. Learn Hong Sau, a simple and
effective meditation technique. If you can breath, you can meditate.
Taught by Ananda certified meditation instructors Ann Kaplan, DC and
Maggie Eaugallie, RN.
