Ananda is the Sanskrit word for Divine Joy; ever expanding, life changing Joy, a Joy that comes from meditation, service and living in harmony with God. The teachings of Paramhansa Yogananda, through the inspiration and guidance of his direct disciple, Swami Kriyananda (J. Donald Walters), are the basis of Ananda. Ananda Village, located in Nevada City, California, was founded in 1968 and has grown into one of the world's most successful communities, with over 300 adults and children living these teachings on a daily basis. Ananda has centers and communities throughout the U.S. and Europe. The Santa Rosa Ananda CenterThe Santa Rosa Center is dedicated to providing support and
guidance for those seeking spiritual truth through Self-realization,
the single, underlying reality of all spiritual paths. The Center , a
non-profit religious organization, is run by disciples of Paramhansa
Yogananda, and works closely for overall counsel with Ananda Sangha,
the overseers of Ananda's extended spiritual family. The Center is
self-supporting, and receives monthly pledge donations which enable us
to provide Sunday services and classes.
