The Santa Rosa Ananda Center offers spiritual inspiration and
support for truth-seekers in the Sonoma County area. Our offerings
include Sunday services based on the teachings of Paramhansa
Yogananda and of his direct disciple, Swami Kriyananda.
For the past 15 years the Ananda Center on West Steele Lane in Santa
Rosa has provided us with a place to gather to share the teachings and
spiritual practices of Kriya Yoga as brought to us by Paramhansa
Yogananda. It has been wonderful having such a beautiful location, with
the devotional vibrations that have grown in that space from years of
meditation, Sunday Services, satsangs, kirtans, discipleship and Kriya
initiations, celebrations and classes. We can no longer financially
support the cost of a center.
The owner of Living Tree Yoga and one of our members, Therese Smith,
has generously offered the use of her yoga studio for our Sunday
services and satsangs. This beautiful space with a large window looking
out on a peaceful garden has wonderful vibrations and was built by
disciples of Yogananda.
We meet every other Sunday and because we do
not have our own space, some events, such as kirtans, may be held in
private homes. All Sunday Services and Satsangs begin at 10:00am.
Many members have commented that this feels like a positive change
because it will allow us to continue as a group without the
distractions of maintaining a facility and struggling to make ends
meet financially. As events unfold it is very important that you check
the e-mail
updates and the website so you will know what is happening and when.
Most Sundays we gather for either a Sunday
Service
or a Sunday Satsang. Both begin at 10:00am.
Sunday Service includes chanting, a
short meditation, readings, affirmations, a talk, and the Festival of
Light.
The Sunday Satsang is a more inward
gathering with chanting, readings, a longer mediataion, affirmations,
and healing prayers.
See the Calendar for Sunday Service and Sunday Satsang
dates.
